Sure, drinking your homebrew is great, but have you ever cooked with it? Beers have been used in countless recipes. Including your own beer only makes it more fun! Below is a recipe you can use for the upcoming holidays or any time of year.
Beef Stew With Ale
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 pounds stew beef
- 2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 12 ounces ale
- 2/3 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound potatoes, peeled and cut into bite sized pieces
- 1 onion, cut into bite sized chunks
- Salt to taste
Coat beef with flour. Heat oil in Dutch oven. Add beef, brown on all sides. Add garlic towards end of browning. Stir in ale, teriyaki, pepper. Cover, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for one hour. Add potatoes and onion. Cover and simmer 45 minutes or until beef and potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally. Salt to taste and serve. Serves 4 to 6.
